Garden Cottage Garden Cottage

Garden Cottage, in the grounds of Strachur Park, is a stone-built Victorian cottage alongside the old walled garden. It has a small fenced garden of its own and the farm road which passes it leads only to a burn which feeds a 'lochan' (small loch) where ducks can be watched and trout caught.

The park was laid out in 1789 and its ancient beeches and lime avenues still stand. There are two designated woodland walks or nature trails through it which have been planted with rare shrubs and rhododendrons, and the Argyll Forest Park lies beyond.

Loch near Garden Cottage

Yet Garden Cottage is not isolated. The village shop and post office are only ten minutes walk away and the famous Creggans Inn on the shores of Loch Fyne is also within easy walking distance.
